  1. Eric Kern President/Founder Eric comes to ARC from being the executive director of PEAC, located in Southern CA. After growing that organization to a level it had not seen in years since its inception by the founder, Bonnie Kenk, Eric wanted to take a rescue in a new direction; thus, the birth of ARC. Eric is originally from NY and came to the southwest over 20 years ago. He had a 16-year career as a grant writer and was fortunate enough to retire 7 years ago.
  2. Melanie Ariessohn Co-Director/Secretary Melanie retired from UC San Diego as a medical editor several years ago, and since that time has devoted most of her waking hours to helping companion parrots in need. She has 30 years’ experience in medical writing and editing, including 6 years as executive editor of a UCSD Dept. of Surgery Division Newsletter and the webmaster for the Division Website.
  3. Adonis Reece Treasurer Adonis comes to ARC with a degree in microbiology. He is a member of Management at Illumina, a leader in the field of DNA and RNA platforms for research and law enforcement. He worked abroad for 6 years in the UK and traveled extensively throughout Europe during that time. Adonis and Eric came to love parrots together when they decided to bring Angel into their home.
